Will PayPal upgrade effect Virtuemart?

Our client received an email from PayPal saying they are upgrading their certificate for paypal.com and says this is used by merchants using IPN. Will this effect the Virtuemart PayPal system? I've checked the config and can't see anywhere I'd need to change. So do I need to do anything or will the website still work after the change?
