Before I can begin evaluating VM2 under Joomla 1.7, I need to know if it already has real time shipping quotes from UPS and/or USPS?

It's not in the current release (RC3) and I haven't heard of anyone building this plugin yet.

I might be interested in doing some dev work on this. I would need to work with someone who knows something about it. I guess I would need some credentials to the service, and some description on how it should work. The VM1 plugin would also be useful.

I would buy it too. This is a requirement for the store I am building so I am currently S.O.L.

It's a major issue.

I contact the folks at the plugin for VM 1.1.x that does this and this was their response:

To answer your first question: yes, our shipping extension allows you to tether your UPS account to VirtueMart so that you can get accurate UPS shipping prices based on weight and distance.

At the moment, our shipping extensions only support VirtueMart 1.1.x (I'm assuming you meant VirtueMart rather than Joomla). However, we do hope to provide support for VirtueMart 2.0 in the future. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

I have just emailed them, hopefully they develop it soon. Im surprised alot of developers are not jumping on the demand of a plugin for UPS, I would be willing to pay a premium for this plug in.

Comon devs - supply and demand, simple economics. ..lol

I noticed a developer in this forum promoting his plugin for Authorize.net, nothing was done to him. How about you PM'ing me where I can get it from. Much Appreciated
