VirtueMart and an EPOS

Hi

Can VirtueMart (joomla) be linked to a Retail Outlets EPOS software? so that Products sold in the shop can have the quantities left updated on the site automaticly.

If so which EPOS software is best compatable with VirtueMart? and can anyone point me in the best direction of any information.

There have been a few discussions around Openbravo and joomla but I don't think there is a firmed up integration yet
