Fatal error: Call to undefined method JSite::getmenu() in /hermes/web03/b356/pow.rickypersaud/beta/modules/mod_virtuemart_login/mod_virtuemart_login.php on line 74

Did I forget to install something?

Well I have been doing anything I can to try every combination of settings to fix this annoying Error: You do not have permission to access the requested module.

Some people for the old versions suggested to enable the VM login and disable the Joomla Login. Is anybody else getting this problem?
Is this thing really designed so only registered users can view the catalog?

VirtueMart Version:
VirtueMart 1.1 revision 960 Complete Package

Joomla/Mambo Version:
Joomla! 1.5 RC2

Can not replicate using VM 1.1 r960 and Joomla 1.5 r9007.

Are you using Joomla 1.5 RC2 or a SVN version? Try nightly build of J1.5.

Your server info?

mmm.... I can't get VM to show on the front end without logging in, and I get this :You do not have permission to access the requested module"  error too... Could they be somehow related?

I'm using the normal Joomla! rc2 and not the SVN. There are too many individual files to download for Joomla SVN and I tried doing a couple and I gave up!!! maybe I should download them one by one and apply them and see.

Your server info and mine are same, I don't have that problem, it could be your Joomla 1.5 version, lots have been fixed since J!1.5 RC2, or it could be a configuration setting to make sure I suggest try Joomla nightly build and report back.

I installed the nightly built for Joomla! 1.5 SVN 9036 and VM 1.1 went haywire... the entire site will not work and I get all kinds of similar fatal errors. The only thing that worked was the Backend!!! I gave up on that installation, so I'm starting from scratch again.

Created a new database (drop the old one).
Install Joomla 1.5 SVN 9036 from scratch, no sample data.
Enable Legacy, Disable jFTP (VM 1.1 does not install over the web interface if you have JFTP enabled).
VM1.1 SVN 960 installed, Install a couple of VM 1.1 moduels (mod_virtuemart, mod_virtuemart_featureprod t, mod_product_categories,  mod_virtuemart_search)
Installed VM sample data

Now I can at least see the site, but mod_product_categories gives me fatal errors like this one every tiem it tries to fetch:

Warning: include(/hermes/web03/b356/pow.rickypersaud/beta/modules/vm_JSCook.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /hermes/web03/b356/pow.rickypersaud/beta/modules/mod_product_categories/mod_product_categories.php on line 59

Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening '/hermes/web03/b356/pow.rickypersaud/beta/modules/vm_JSCook.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /hermes/web03/b356/pow.rickypersaud/beta/modules/mod_product_categories/mod_product_categories.php on line 59

I do not get that permission denied error again, however there is also a new problem that poped out: All VM generated links are broken now because of a missing slash
for example I can click on any product to see the detail pages and I get page cannot be displayed. The URL:
http://betatest.mhpcomputers.comindex.php/?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=8&Itemid=4

If you read that there is a slash "/" missing after the domain name.

I have been at this thing for over 14 hours today... my brain is mushed right now!!! I'll come back and look at it again to see if I had done anything wrong.

gorbehnare

Sorry... I'm just reading my above explanation and I realized it does not even make sense!!!

feel free to look for yourself please: http://betatest.mhpcomputers.com
just click on any product picture and the slash shows up after the index.php instead of before. place the slash in the right position and it works.

I should be sleeping now... at least I should try, before I say more nonsense!!!  ;D

gregdev

The missing slash is a Joomla! 1.5 problem. Please see this post.

Perhaps a post about how to test on J! 1.5 would be helpful.

Awesone ;)

The other problem is being worked on here:
http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=31396.0

That Fatal Error was also related to missing files in the new SVN packages. It will happen on a clean install (it seems like I had some of these files remaining on the server after removing the modules.

Cheers
