Hello to all!  First of all, thanks to everyone who has posted on this board.  Without the clever tricks you all have come up with, I would still be lost in joomlaland trying to figure out shippers, and how to move the site, and how to add modules...  and now...  hurray!  I am finally up and going.

I would love to hear some constructive criticism of the site.  My main goal is to make it accessible and easy to navigate for the users.

Any suggestions about how to improve things would be most welcome.

Mainly, I just want to thank everyone who has contributed to the virtuemart project.  You are all the best!

I wish each of you success with your own shops!

Thanks for taking the time to look this over and thanks in advance for your helpful comments!

You have adapted the default template and the colour scheme is really good.

Noticed you have taken someone else's artwork.

Yes, Very Good Eye on the artwork!  I bought the template from pixelthemes.com, but adapted the theme some.  I liked the layout, but not the moving flash part of the header... also wanted a little more color in there.  So I did a little alteration.

Thanks for taking time to look, and comment!

Anyone who wants a good, affordable template for joomla can try http://www.pixelthemes.com  The cost for mine was less than $25, and delivery is instant.

Nice site. Having seen the rhuk_solarflare template about a million times it looks a little too familiar to me, but I guess not everyone installs Joomla every day. :) The navigation works pretty well.

A couple of things I noticed:
1. In Firefox the left hand column has some lines that are too wide for the column and shoot out into the main content area.
2. The page asking for Billing information is not encrypted. I didn't go any further but I wouldn't feel comfortable with that if I were buying.

thesilverviolet

Yes-  I know- it is the default setup...  but- it works for what I need this for.  And- for the SSL- you are right...  I have shared SSL though my host- but couldn't figure out how to make it work without emptying the cart everytime the SSL kicked in.

"2. The page asking for Billing information is not encrypted. I didn't go any further but I wouldn't feel comfortable with that if I were buying."

Thanks to James for calling it to my attention!  I found the solution to this problem right here on the forum... here's a link for anyone else having this trouble...

Now- it is secure!  Hurray!

Now to work on that menu...

THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK!!  Much appreciated!

Thanks to all for the encouragement!  Even though the site is working well now- I've accepted several orders- there are still a few kinks to be worked out.

Keep coming with suggestions to help me improve the site- and make shopping safe and secure for my customers.

THANKS TO ALL!!
