Delete articles

In Virtuemart 4.6.4 with Joomla 5 I notice that deleting a single article takes more than 30 seconds. In previous versions this was just a split-second.
Any suggestion how to resolve this?

I discovered the reason myself.
Due to lack of a Smart Search option in Virtuemart, I found Smart Search-Virtuemart from Dudebaker.
That opened the way to apply Joomla 5 Smart Search, which requires the indexing of the complete website.
Deleting a product article leads to an update of the index database, which is in this situation apparently very time consuming and not appropriate in case of bulk deletes.
Hence I returned to the traditional Search and deleted the search index.
The problem is gone but the need for a professional Virtuemart Smart Search option is still highly requested.
