PayPal Checkout Plugin

We are using Joomla 4.4.8, Virtuemart 4.2.12 11014, and trying to migrate to the PayPal Checkout plugin (version 4.2.12)/Payment Method. We were successful in enabling the plugin and adding the Payment Method, but to configure the payment method, we are being prompted to connect the plugin to the PayPal account: "Merchant onboarding here. Use this button to let PayPal configure the plugin or to create an account". This was attempted, and the resulting dialogue box said it was successful, but the data (Merchant e-mail, Merchant id, Client id, and Secret) does not populate into the fields (and cannot be populated manually because the fields are "grayed-out" and inaccessible). Has anyone run into this issue and have any ideas what may be causing this?

Have you tried checking your API permissions or That's Not My Neighbor PayPal Developer account settings? It could be that the plugin is not receiving the return information due to a lack of associated permissions or the PayPal app configuration is not properly activated.

We actually got direct support from the PayPal Integration support team and they said everything looked good on their end, but the data simply would not populate into the plugin. They are baffled by it, but don't have an internal Virtuemart resource to dig deeper. So I guess we just need to find someone in the VM community that has dealt with this issue.

Meanwhile: have you updated VM (and J) since you started this topic?
Your version of VM was already at 4.4.10 at the time of posting.

I'm responding to your DM.

There's a warning in the plugin header: "Disable your popup blockers." Have you tested the payment plugin response in different browsers with/without pop-up blockers running?

If so, what does the pop-up window say/look like after you've selected an account to link to the shop vendor? Is the VM4 shop vendor correct?

We attempted the connection in a private Chrome browser with no pop-up blockers, in fact there was a pop-up that spun for a while and then said "You're all set!" - seemingly, it should have been fine. We actually went through this whole process with PayPal support, a few different times as they viewed and tweaked, on a web conference and they saw no issues on their end and couldn't understand why the process failed. But the plugin data failed to populate.

I think we need some hands-on support and PP support says they are available to assist as needed.
