Hello,
I updated Virtuemart to version 4.2.18. Now the layout doesn't look good anymore. I use the template "JA Elicyon"
Example:
http://2024.friedrich-living.de/produkte/gartenmoebel/gartentische/esstische-1/classic-alu-tische-keramik-promo-detail
What could be the reason?

Tanks and best regards

Roderic

Go to Configuration -> Templates ->  Template and Layouts -> Layout Bootstrap version:

Set to None (Legacy) instead of Bootstrap 5.

I don't think it's a good idea for a new Virtuemart installation to change the store user configuration. - This can be considered a BUG

AH

I have noted this with the devs

It was on purpose.
I had also a shopowner who said, "Wow, what happend, looks a lot better now"
Because j5 templates are usually bs5
and so the layout fits better in the common css
and people would not use it, not understand the trick of it.
Btw,.... if you use an overwrite already, you are uneffected.
Only if you used only css to adjust the old layout, then it changes.
I did not consider this case, yes.

but it is not really bug guys. Compare to other software, for example skype, whatsapp, Facebook. You get  changes and you just have to take it.

We are like "yeh but you can take the old stuff". Soouu,... please consider how other software is doing that.
Should I fix your bug, please support the VirtueMart project and become a member

Really, seriously? Do I need to use Bootstrap? It's terrible. It's a terribly heavy framework. It has too large Javascript and css files. It should be eliminated from Joomla just like jquery in Virtuemart. I blocked it on the entire domain from the front end.

Pages should be super efficient and fast. And if you're pushing Bootstrap, I don't understand at all, why did you use Uikit in the new Virtuemart template in the admin panel? In the administration panel, the user is forced to unnecessarily load several frameworks (Uikit + Bootsrap + Jquery +  custom code) - I don't understand this solution at all.

Uikit and Tailwind: are the fastest frameworks
Bootstrap: the size might slow down your website - this framework is overloaded with a huge amount of code that a normal online store does not need.
