Sorting products frontend problem

Hi,

I have been trying all kind of options to get it working but I need some help from you.
As you can see in the screenshots I did the Sort & Search on the product name.

SEO is enabled with default values.

The Product Name order is 1-2-3-4

The Site order is 1-4-3-2

Somebody ?

Product sort order should be "Ordering"

I changed it to ordering but without any result. Some ordering appears.

Yes I have cleared the browser cahce and all the Joomla caches.

For your information I use:
VirtueMart 3.8.8 10472
Joomla 3.9.28
PHP 7.4.6

Have Ypu updated to PHP 7.4 recently ?

There are still older extensions that have trouble with 7.4

I did not exclude VM and  without more debug data, who knows where the problem lies ?
