Mootools still used?

Hello,

We are trying to optimize our store, using a popular 3rd party template, and we noticed it relies a lot on mootools + mootools-more libraries.
e.g. I cannot display the Add-to-Cart popup with mootools removed.

I also checked the official VM3 demo store: https://demo.virtuemart.net/dress-shirt-with-tie-detail
and indeed, both mootools libraries are loaded.

Mootools has been deprecated by Joomla for a long time, and it adds a considerable weight to the page size. What gives?

You dont need mootools to run VM

Plugins etc - may still load mootools

the demo is "obsolete" and use old updated beez template from Joomla 2.5.
I dont know why. You have to check why the team dont use default Joomla 3 protostar template or a more modern template to verify the mobile render.
