missing font selector

did not think I would be back so soon.  My "font / layout selection options "(not sure what the generic term is) seem to be missing when I am trying to set up a new product catetory or product. I have attached a screen shot.  It is also missing on old categories / products that have already been created.  Can anyone assist on how to get them back?

Your VM version is seriously outdated and insecure. You are advised to update, take backup Before of course.

This is probably a Joomla issue. You have chosen not to use a wysiwyg editor or are missing the same.

thank you for you response.  I am going to update today, but wanted to load my new products first.  Please excuse my lack of knowledge but what is wysiwyg editor?  would this be the equivalent to JCE editor (was advised to use this).

Yes JCE editor is this kind of editor.

Be sure to check that Your Joomla template is updated for VM 3.2 when You upgrade, otherwise You get other issues also.

will do. the strange thing is the problem is not consistent.  The functionality comes and goes.  but never-the-less, tks a mil. have a great one
