Problem with Sending buy product to external URL

Im not sure where this problem should be posted so i hope you will forgive me posting on this topic.

I have a lot of products that i want to put on the site, the difference is that unlike buying a products and dealing with direct, im trying to use the site to display the products and when a customer is interested and clicks the picture or buy button, it will direct to a externatl url to a network site.  I basically want to use this particular site as an affiliate site, so the URL would have my afficiate code in it to track the customer when on the network site so i get paid.

I have tried and tried, but i cant seem to get it to use the URL which has the link to the product and my affiliate code to work, it just wont go to the network site when any picture or button is pressed.

Can anyone give me guidance on how i do this and can point me in the right direction please.  I have spent hours and hours and every combination i can see but it still will not work.

Is it possible on virtumart or is this just plain impossible and i need to look at a difference ecommerce system for my affiliate site.  I do run ordinary product sites which i deal with but its the affiliate site im having a problem with.

I appreciate any help anyone can give me on this which is now urgent.

I would use the URL field of the product with your affiliate link and rewrite the templates to use this link for links and buttons

Many thanks for the suggestion, but i could do with help in just how do i do this, where do i look or what do i need to put and where as this really has me baffled, i have never done this before so i really dont know where to start.

sorry..  I don't do unpaid house calls.. happy to be hired or someone else can advise.. but if you can't code the template to what u want then you need to get someone who can.

Or someone else may suggest another way.. but basically u need to use the url u enter as the links in your pages

the url afaik is just another field .. u have to use this field value in your template
