VM3.0.16 with J3.5.1 cart

I run a J3.5.1 with VM3.0.16 web shop, the shop cart is not updating, all attempt to adjust this in VM configuration failed, could some one please advise on the right setting for VM3.0.16 cart, it doesn't add products

Am using Protostar template, it is to do with the template setting, in VM configuration, could you advise on right setting for this features
-cart layout
-category layout
-custom layout for category article
-article view
what is the right setting here, i think here lies the problem

Which problem?
I did leave it with the default values:
Select the default template for your Shop: use Joomla default
Category Template: use Joomla default
cart layout: default
category layout: no override
Sublayouts for products in category: no override
Layout for your home page: no override
