Hi,
We are using sh404sef component in this site http://www.couponviaggio.it. (It's a travel agency site)
In some products, modules (on the left) appear, in other they don't appear.
For example here appear:
http://www.couponviaggio.it/residence-nautilus-jesolo-detail
Her don't appear:
http://www.couponviaggio.it/hotel-portogreco-club-scanzano-jonico-54111-detail

I noticed that the non-sef url of the first link include the "itemid", and the second doesn't include it.
I think that this is the problem.
We have 1000+ products, and i can't set the main url that include "itemid" product by product. Is there a method to include it for all product? We don't care about what itemid is insert, we only want that module appear.
I notice also that if there is a product, for example product-a, in a determinated category, if i search it on google, and i open the link, the modules appear, and is highlighted a wrong menu item.
Hope this situation can be solved.

Thank you so much,
Best regards.
Andrea

sh404sef creates URLs dynamically and saves them to database. Therefore they can differ depending on how they're originally accessed. Try out different settings in sh404sef -> Advanced -> Itemid management. Also check if "Use menu items" option in sh404sef -> Extensions -> VirtueMart does anything.

If you use sh404sef to remove categories from VM product URLs, you no longer need to use sh404sef because new VM versions have this option.

Yes, i'm using to remove categories from VM product urls. The version that i have is VirtueMart 3.0.2 .
How can i update it without losing data?

However, with settings that you say, it doesn't work :(

After you change sh404sef settings, you need to purge URLs and generate them again (e.g. by using a sitemap component). Note that URLs may be different depending on how they're generated. That's just how sh404sef works.

You should be able to easily update to latest VM. But always make a backup first, just in case. Use Xcloner or similar extension to create backup.
