Programming VM

Hi all.

A customer ask me to add and e-commerce to an existing Joomla web site and I would like to use Virtuemat.

I never have worked with Joomla code but I'm a Django developer, so I should have the ability to acquire the missing skills.

Before to accept the work I would like to understand how much could be difficult to work with VM code (I read that VM code is not so simple to understand and customize, but I also read that version 2 was completely rewrite...).

You do not have to know any code to install and use VirtueMart. However, you do need to understand how Joomla works, and a small understanding of html, php and css if changing the layout to suit your Joomla template or when creating template overrides. This really is not at all difficult.  Most VirtueMart users have no knowledge of code.
