Category change after selecting a product

Hi,

we have a lot of products in more than one category. The fact is that when you enter to a product, the sef and the tree navigation displays another url and it creates a big confusion.

see the example:
1-SPECIFIC PRODUCT CATEGORY
URL1- http://www.solocamarasfrigorificas.com/v2/vitrinas-expositoras/fondo-1100

2-AFTER CHOOSING A PRODUCT PROM URL 1, THE URL CHANGE TO ANOTHER CATEGORY ASIGNED.
http://www.solocamarasfrigorificas.com/v2/productos-ordenados-por-tipo-de-negocio/maquinaria-para-carniceria/vitrina-cristal-elevable-ve-10e-detail

We are using VirtueMart 3.0.9 version and Joomla! 3.4.1.

What happens if you use the current versions of Joomla & VirtueMart?   http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=118683.0

Would be great if you can set a primary and secondary categories for a product.

thank you jenkinhill, I'm going to try it asap to see if the problem remains. Balai, thankyou for the info. In my case, it would be a great feature to avoid this kind of problem.
