Maximum Purchase Quantity Message

My User can max. order 600 of one product. In product status - Maximum Purchase Quantity - i have 600. But when i order more than 600 pices of this product, the shop autom. correction to 600. I get no messages! Is it possible too show a messages if the user order more than 600?

link into I assume the JS vmprices.js perhaps and detect when corrected and pop an alert

Would be good to have this as part of the core vm.   Surely, most people must need this.   

As quite confusing for the customer to request a certain qty to be added, but not knowing why it was reduced, or in some cases they might proceed with the order without checking and not realised the qty was reduced.

From my memory, VM2 use to have a message for this.
