new customer field not showing in email

I am using VM 3.0.4 and Joomla 3.3.6.
I added a customer field. The user is able to add a date during checkout. This date tells me when he wants the product to be shipped.
The field-type is "date" and its name ist Mietdatum (see attachment).
It shows during checkout and is saved in the order in the backend. That's fine. But it doesn't display in the confirmation email. Is there a solution to that?
