Different layout for product details and categories

Hi,
I'm using JM-Kids-Fashion-Store + VM 3.0.4 + joomla 3
Can I make the product details page be with layout of
left column - content - no right
and categories page with
no left - content - right column ?

I want to assign module X on right column to categories pages and module Y to left column on product details page.

does the cart use the same layout? or it has a different one

any idea will be welcomed, even add some logic if needed.
