Is it Possible to override shopfunctions.php ?

Anyone know if I can template override
\administrator\components\com_virtuemart\helpers\shopfunctions.php  ?

OR have Virtuemart CORE include the numeric months to the beginning of the Month dropdown for creditcard?

Bump, it's been a week.   Anytjhoughts.
If it is not possible to override shopfunctions.php then i will just have to keep track of the change and re apply after VM updates.
