Trigger "notify customer" email manually from php script?

Hi,
does anyone know the way to send the "notify customer" email about changes in order status from php script?
For my company i've wrote a script where are the changes for the orders status in "company" software synced with VM orders status,
but i can't find a way for VM to send a "notify customer" email from my own php script.
Any thoughts on how i can accomplish that?
