500 Internal Server Error after replacing a product image

Hello,

I am experiencing a error with Virtuemart, here's the problem.
I have placed products normaly and on one product I wanted to replace image, I chosed a file and then checked a "Replace" field this time. After saving it
my whole website didn't respond. I use Virtuemart in Joomla 2.5 and I can't even acces joomla administration page.

Here's the error message:

"Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."


I am sure that this "Replace" field have some error or bug because after I placed backup of my website I did the same action just to see if this caused an error.
I will not use this option un future to avoid this problem but I will like to know what caused this error and how to fix it and how to retrieve website from this error if you don't have backup?

First search this forum for "white screen"  '500 server error"   etc

to fix first you have to know what the error is

logs , ask the host etc etc  - then post back with what the error is

Be aware that the replace action, replaces the image of the media. usually it is easier just to choose another Media. To replace an image makes only sense, if you used the media at different places.

Replace function is great especially as it allows a media that is allocated to multiple products to be replaced just once

However, would it not be just as simple to upload a new image with the same name as the existing one?
