Not able to view cart

Hello I have been working with virtuemart on a joomla 2.5 install trying to get it working. I had it working at one point then it just stopped. At that point i completely removed the component and modules and removed the tables from the database. Then did a completely fresh install with sample data and edited it accordingly. Now I can add something to the cart but as soon as I click to view the cart nothing shows up. Please help.
