Hi folks,
I need help desperately on this one.      I have searched but cant find the answer...

The issue is in adding additional items by quantity to a VM2 order, eg, the main product is "Breakfast Menu" (this is just a simple example... it could get much more complex)

This product includes:
•   Cereal of 3 different types (A, B & C),
•   Tea/Coffee
•   Juices of 4 different types (Orange, Apple, Mango, Grapefruit).

So, lets say, a customer wants to order 10 breakfast menu packages, with:
Cereal
    8 Cereal "A"
    2 Cereal "B",
Tea/Coffee
    6 coffees,
    4 teas,
Juice
    2 Orange juice,
    3 Mango juice
    5 Apple juice

I can add the Tea/Coffee and Juice combinations as custom fields, but the selection of Tea/Coffee and Juice is wrong....  If I select "Tea", I get 10 teas.....    If I select Mango Juice", I get 10 Mango juice....    Etc...

How do I distinguish the various quantities? And some of them might even have different prices.  I think I need a quantity selection on the custom fields.

I am really, really tearing my hair out here, and any assistance would be most gratefully appreciated.....  even a pointer to a plugin/module which can help do this?

thanks folks,
Mike

You could do this a couple of ways. First, look into Product Builder (but cereals, juices, etc. would all need to be treated as products) - http://breakdesigns.net/virtuemart-product-builder

Or we could do it for you as a custom development project leveraging an integration we have created with Breezing Forms and VM2. If the off-the-shelf Product Builder doesn't work the way you need, please send us a few details at https://polishedgeek.com/clients/contact.php .

Hi Deb,
Thanks a million for your reply.
Because I am 'under the pump' so to speak, to get this done soon, I might drop you a not at pg.com in regards to leveraging that development you did before.

I will also look at Product Builder as you suggested.

Thanks again.

Hi Robet.
Thanks a million for that....   I will certainly look into this option.
I have sent a note to Deb at Polished Geek, and am waiting for a reply......  Will definitely look into this.
If needs be, would you mind if I sent you a PM at some stage if I cant hack this one through (no immediate intentions to do this of course... I'm only asking, just in case).

regards
Mike
