Changed no image file and now shows up in thumbnails but not detail

The no image found, image is not showing in product detail, when i check the url of the broken link  http://mardigras.ca/newsite/images/stories/virtuemart/product/ no image file is shown. even when I change the image back to default it does not show in product detail, Any ideas as to why?

the image file is simply missing from the the code
e.g.

that is just a folder path -
1. have you tried with this 3rd party template disabled - i.e. std VM template
2. have you tried with putting notavailable.jpg in the folder /newsite/images/stories/virtuemart/product/ (doubt this will work)
