I am trying to allow front end product editing

I have found some info in this forum that relates to this issue and have discovered that if I turn off the core Joomla search engine friendly urls, front end product editing works

However if I turn the core SEF back on I can no longer edit products via the front end - When  I click the "Save" button I am re-directed to index.php and the update does not occur

I am using Virtuemart 2.0.22c and Joomla! 2.5.14

Is there a solution for this problem?

It is not acceptable to allow back end access with this project and clearly search engine friendly urls are important to keep

Any help would be appreciated

HI, i got similar situation:

When  I keep "ON" the SEF from backend joomla  (global configuration), on the FRONTEND of Virtuemart 2.0.22c the editing/saving doesn't work, it takes back to the home page without saving nothing. (Using joomla version 2.5.14)
when i off the SEF it works correctly...

the problem now is that i don't want to off the SEF (First) and i don't want that on the url is writting all the path instead of the alias menu...

EXAMPLE: index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=category&virtuemart_category_id=28&Itemid=275&lang=it (for virtuemart menus)
or
index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=6&Itemid=115&lang=it (for menu)

how can i solve it?

thank you

Hi, thank you for your time!

URL of what?

when i open the editing from front end it takes me here: index.php?option=com_virtuemart&tmpl=component&view=product&task=edit&virtuemart_product_id=41
and until here, after when i click save it taked me to the home page without saving nothing. is because vm2 doesn't work with joomla SEF maybe? because when is off joomla SEF it works perfect and when i save it gives me saves succesful with the changes.

thank you
