Hi, hope someone can help me with this, been searching the net to no avail.

Here is my site: www.primanada.com

I have categories like such:
- Musical Instruments
- - Bass
- - Drum
- - Guitar
- - Keyboard
- - so on..
- Microphones
- - Bodypack Mic
- - Clip-On Mic
- - Headset Mic
- - so on..

Now when I go to products page www.primanada.com/products, it shows just Musical Instruments, Microphone, ... which is the default virtuemart layout for categories. But what I would like to achieve is for it to show All of the parent and sub categories. So it suppose to show:
- Bodypack Microphone
- Drum
- Musical Instruments
- Microphone
... so on

Is there a way to do this?

The closes solution (that I think is doing what I'm trying to achieve) I found on the net is http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=57070.0 but this code is way too old and no longer relevant for the current version of virtuemart and joomla.

Few info that might help:
- I'm using Joomla 2.5.9
- I'm using Virtuemart 2.0.20b
- In Main Menu, I set "Products" to be "Virtuemart > Front Page"

Cheers,
Chris

I am having the exact same problem. I had the solution for VM 1.0, but for 2.0 I have absolutely no clue and cannot find the answer on the forums either. Any help from the VM team will be appreciated!

I think you just need to choose here the category view, which shows also the products or the categories view, which does not show products. Maybe the easiest is to use category view, to copy the layout in your override folder, rename it, adjust it and then use for your category the other layout.

Hello, i'm not sure if this might help, but maybe try changing the "Menu Item Type" to "Category Layout" instead of "Virtuemart Categories Layout". Do remember to "Select a Category" as well.

I had a similar problem, all my sub categories didn't work and we displaying other products for some reason. Nothing else was changed, so i think it may be a bug with the update.

Hope this helps. I'm a newbie  :)
