Show the sum of the stock of child products in the category view

Hi all.

First of all i'm using: Joomla 2.5.6, Virtuemart 2.0.20b and PHP 5.4.15

I have a problem that is difficult to explain for me. I attach an image where you can see three products in category view. I marked with a red rectangle product availability:

- Disponible (green): Available, more than 5 units.
- Disponible (orange): Available, 5 or less units.
- Agotado (red): Product out of stock, 0 units.

When a product haven't child products it works correctly, but when a product have child products (different sizes) it shows stock of the smallest size and it's confusing. Should ideally show the sum of all sizes (sum of child products stock) but i don't know how do that. Anyone know how can I do that?

Any ideas?

Maybe have some page where I can see the variables that I can used for programming this in php. This information would be incredible...

I'm a bit desperate, i've been looking information and working for days and I can not get the stock of the child products in category view. I'm trying a lot of different codes and none of them work.

Any expert can help me please?
