Firstly:  http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=79799.0

Since many people have issues with RT templates please check the display with a standard Joomla template like Beez20 and disable RT modules & plugins.

Thanks for your reply  jenkinhill
Yes I tried swapping too Bees and the images showed up.
Now to try and find a solution why it wont work with RT.
I`m currently running Joomla 2.5.10
And Virtuemart    2.0.20b

I have a very similar issue. After doing a 1.1.9 to 2.0 migration and using a RT template, category images appear for a few seconds on the home page and then disappear:

Unfortunately a lot of people have problems with RT templates, and not all category images. A good diagnostic start is to disable all RT modules and plugins to see if it works than. If so, re-enable one by one until you find the culprit. In many cases it is Rokbox.

ironlion37 you should really be using Joomla 2.5 with VM 2 (I assume your version is 2.0.20b?)   As reported in October 2012,  Joomla 1.5 is no longer supported for VirtueMart. http://virtuemart.net/news/list-all-news/426-end-of-life-for-virtuemart-11-heidelpay-now-in-virtuemart-2012    "the version 2 of VirtueMart is not any longer maintaining joomla 1.5 compatibility."
