Digital download (ISTRAXX) Plugin not attaching File

Hi Folks, I have Joomla 1.5, VM 2018.  I have installed the ISTRAXX Shipment for Virtual Products.
I have followed the setup as the readme says.
INSTALLATION
Go to the menu Products > Custom Fields
Create a new custom field, choose "Custom Field Type" "Plugin", choose "product download". Give it a title and set "Cart Attribute" to yes. Press save/store. (you need to do this only one time).
HOW TO USE IT
1. Go in VirtueMart administration, choose the menu Shop > Media Files.
2. Create a new media. Set the role to "for Sale". Set the "Image Action" to "Upload" and press save/store.
3. Add the new customfield to your product, choose one of the uploaded file[/i]

Problems....
Now I have my product, Ive uploaded a PDF and get "File is for sale".
But when I go to addisng the "custom field" to my  "product" - there is nothing in the filed list to select and I do not get the bottom selector of Virtual Products when I go to Custom Fields (last step in the instructions).
There is a message "no custom fields etc ........."
The PDF is in my safepath - the file is in my media list, but when I go to my Product list, select a product and try to attach it, nothing show.

Help please as I do not see any way to attach the downloadable product.

Hi Folks,  is there anyone home?  I have also placed a ticket to VM (ISTRAXX) but so far no response.
This is a real problem as not only have I committed to VM, by going to the effort of having a Gate2Shop Payment Plugin created which not only cost me, but has further committed me to VM on the basis that VM can handle digital delivery. Now I have also paid for the Download Plugin, which I cannot make function.
I need to have this running as I have clients waiting to be invoiced and pay.  I would appreciate any response or input from the development team to point me in the right direction.  I am not a programmer/developer but am willing to pock& prod.
As far as I can see, I have correctly installed VM and Digital Downloads, but it did not attach a file as described in the instructions.
If this is a Joomla 1.5 issue I need to know now.  We will be upgrading soon, but that is a major task.

I need to know if there is something we are missing or need to sort out to make this plugin work or simply give up and pay for yet another plugin that will work as promised.  My apologies if I sound snippy - but I really need input and if you provide support for "core" paid for plugins, then please help.

OK, folks I have a response from the team so maybe we can work it out now.

OK folks, now I am getting PM's from other users with the same problem.
I have checked paths (I think I have them right), the file actually appears on the media list as a "File for sale".
But there is no file/s listed in the Plugin file selector to attach.   The Support Team have not followed up with suggestions.

I would like to know if there is anyone using Digital Downloads with J1.5, and VM 2018 stable.
If its a Joom issue, I can live with that and simply not use VM until we upgrade, but without some hints its a bit hard to decide.
Im reluctant to pay for support when I have paid for a plugin - that at the moment does not work for me.
Maybe its a simple error on my part and can be quickly fixed.

I am not really selling downloads, its just a way to "sell a service" with a PDF instruction download for the order.
The Kainhofer and Globals plugin doesnt work with J1.5,  Digitolls maybe cos the manual says J1.5, but the product page says J2.5 and its a whopping $100 for something I dont need.

There could be other issues. Joomla 1.5 is no longer supported.  http://virtuemart.net/news/list-all-news/426-end-of-life-for-virtuemart-11-heidelpay-now-in-virtuemart-2012

"We decided to declare now the end of life for VirtueMart 1.1, and that the version 2 of VirtueMart is not any longer maintaining joomla 1.5 compatibility." 4 October 2012

In other words, VM2.0.18 really requires Joomla 2.5

Hi Jenkinhill, thanks for the feedback.
OK, I understand that MAY be an issue.  In that case may I suggest that the Extensions advert for the Digital Delivery be updated to reflect that.
Its a little misleading to have customers pay then be unable to actually implement.
OK then, VM is off the map unless there is other input.

As far as I know the download plugin should work with joomla1.5. But maybe you just use an old virtuemart version (lower then 2.0.. Or you have some 3rd party extension installed, which is disturbing the java script (there are some modules doing that).

Yeh, just checked the images you sent me.

This is not a problem of the plugin. Try to create a customfield with the textinput plugin delivered by the core it wont work. None of your customfields work, because the javascript of your list is broken.
search for the azrul mambot plugin and disable it. Or any other jquery-javascript-enhancer

Hi Milbo,
Thanks for the input.  It seems that I am not alone at least.  But its still frustrating.
ATM there is not much I can do.  I use Jomsocial and disabling Azrul crashes the site when you try to open JomSocial.

So it does appear it is not a J1.5 issue, but Azul/Jomsocial.
At least now I know Im between a rock and a hard place - use Virtuemart but not Jomsocial, Use Jomsocial but not VM.
It seems that when we upgrade to J2.5 and upgrade all other components and plugis, this issue may be solved.
Until then, basically I cannot use VM with JS.
