Shopping cart and Shipping

I am getting started with the joomla template JA Vintas and the virtumart. I am having difficulties with the shipping setup and tried viewing some of the tutorials on youtube but what i am seeing on the videos does not look like the same version I have. I downloaded 2.0.18a.  I downloaded everything from the Joomlart website and wonder if i missed downloading a key plugin or ext for the shipping or cart. I cant find an "administrator" tab in my virtumart or a "shopping cart".

I tried to set up shipping for UPS and when i go to the frontend and try to make a purchase i can see the UPS shipping but the cost does not show up.

Do i still need to install a shopping cart. Is there a tutorial video for dummies that i can view that will walk me through setting up the shipping part of virtumart?

So you downloaded & installed a quickstart package for JA Vintas? In which case why did you download VirtueMart 2.0.18a? Your JA file package will have contained a version of VirtueMart and the template overrides for that version, which may not work with the latest VM version. If you are having problems with the JA package you should ask them about it. http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=108212.0

I have no idea what this "administrator" tab you are looking for is. The backend (administration area) of VirtueMart 2 should look like this: http://demo.virtuemart.net/administrator/index.php  (log in with username  demo  and password  demo  )

I assume you installed this UPS plugin - http://extensions.virtuemart.net/shipments/ups-detail

The description of JA Vintas is as follows:
JA Vintas is August 2012 ecommerce theme Joomla 2.5 template. Vintas supports Virtuemart component for the shopping cart and comes with great k2 styles, not to mention the bonus pages.

Says it just supports virtumart not that it contains virtumart: I checked all the descriptions for JA Vitas and there was nothing that I could see that read that virtumart is included with the template.

So i went to virtumart and downloaded what looked to be the latest version.

When i said Admin I didn't mean signing into the backend of Joomla, i meant after i am logged into the backend and on the control panel of virtumart.  On the instructional videos they are clicking on the admin tab and there are other tabs such as "shipping" that are not showing on the version that i have. I was just checking to see if there were other extentions or plugins that needed to be installed.

OK. You should not need anything alse as long as you installed both components in the VM2.0.18a package. See pic for shipment menu link.

If the template is described as supporting VirtueMart then it probably has templat overrides already installed in the template package. If so they will be in a template subdirectory - (VU vitas template)/html/com_virtuemart/
