One product for row when I search

Hi,
I would like to do something. When I'm in the category I can set the number of products to display for row. But I can not change this option when I do a search from the search form.

example:
I click on the the category "Category A" and I see 3 products per row (ok)
I search a product and I see one product for row (my request)

What I want to do is set up a template to search the site. This can it be done by template overwriting?
