I'm new to VM but have used several others. I have paid a devolper to do the website for me. BUT...

when you add products (or edit for that matter) there is a section labled "PRODUCT PRICING" what the hell is this all about?

I have to put the price in and caculate my cost.. really? there is no way that ANY industry has  and exact caculation to figure up cost of a product???

ON top of that the product page is showing the so called cost price??? my devolper is taking care of this issue, but is telling me there is nothing to do about the need to caculate.

My question is... why? where? and how?

Why does it need this "caculated" faux price?
where do I configure the rate it is using?
or
How the heck do I turn it off?

It's simple, I want to say this cost $XX.XX and thats what it should say... single entry, then the discounts can apply as configured.. ( which works great btw)

so any help would be greaty appreciated.

Some people will use this for their markup.

Look in "calculation rules"

Look and see if there is a rule being applied

&& my version is 2.0.18a

what version is your?
My screen does not look like that

all I have to do is type in MY PRICE into the "cost price"  and hit save. AND that price is what shows on the frontend

Thank you Pro, turns out for some reason the state tax was being figured in there..  unpublished the rule and boom it resolved the issue.

thanks again.
