Edit button does not work

Hello, when one is logged as superuser the edit button in product layout results in an error 500 page. How can i fix it? thank a lot!!

Thanks for the reply. I'm using Virtuemart 2.0.12f. Can't post an url because the site is closed to visitors until it's finished and working ok. Error log says this:

So find out if those files are present or if so, why you cannot link to them.

I don't think that's the problem, as it says the missing files are images. I've  restored them and it still doesn't work. Can it be a permissions problem?
