Product images questions

Hello guys, i have a problem in my site, im using virtuemart 2.0.8b and joomla 2.5.7, the problem i have is with the product images, i need to replace the images and thumbnails of my products to update my store but when i try to update the thumbnail: in image action i choose the "replace thumb" option and then i click save and then i see an error message that says:

product\resized\dsc00106.jpg uploaded File could not be deleted

and the another one that says

Failed deleting resized

and then it keeps the original image as thumbnail

i need to know how to successfully change the thumbnail of my products as well as any other image

Why not use the red cross on the thumb? First delete the old thumbnail and hit save. After that try uploading the new image!
