How to show my categories properly

I plan to move my shop to VM - but i have problem with showing categories nicely -> if i have few categories with different length,  category avatars does not show properly  (screen in attachment)

you just have to adjust the css to the way you want it.

I'll try, but I need some help. I haven't experience with CSS.

Can you give me some hints ?   (which css and how - maybe there are some functions, which I need to try ?)
