Yes, customs fields which are cart attributes can be seen from category layout even from front page layout when you click on "Quick Look" button which is shown on Mouse Over for a respective product.

Two questions:

1.  Is it possible, trying to avoid an extra click - to have it not be a popup, but actually shown in the listing?  (Clicking Quick Look is just like clicking Product Details!)

2.  The site is just about done - save this one sticking point - will the category/default.php file stand alone if I were to carry it over to the existing template/design (Shape5 Eshopper) or are there clearly defined files that can be carried over to make this work?  In other words - can I use your category layout in another template or is an integral part of your template?

1. It is possible to show custom fields with product listing but it is not possible with VP ProMart Template as that will spoil the original design of the template.

2. VP ProMart is a responsive Joomla template. You can not combine functionality of two separate Joomla Templates together. It is not possible.

I understand ... but i have test your demo on my iphone ... i see the entire site on the screen ... i have to resize each time because the result is so SMALL !!!

Stefan, You must be viewing the demo site within the iframe layout which enables you to switch between different demos (Using this link: http://demos.virtueplanet.com/?theme=promart). When you are viewing a responsive demo site then you should close the iframe by clicking the cross sign available at the top of the iframe.

Otherwise just use the direct link of the demo site i.e. http://demos.virtueplanet.com/promart/ Now you will be able to experience the responsive layout also on any mobile browsers.

Yes, we do have a plan to develop our own One Page Checkout plugin. But there are already few available in the market. There is no meaning to develop a plugin with same features which can be served by any other existing extension. It won't benefit Virtuemart. We trying to bring some new innovative ideas to make the checkout process simpler and it may take some time.

VP ProMart is Joomla template with custom Virtuemart HTML overrides. It is not a virtuemart theme which you can use on any other Joomla template. You can not combine two separate Joomla Templates together.
