Huge gap on category page

I have a huge gap between the top of the page and the list of products. When you click on a category, it looks like its empty until you scroll down and see the product lists at the bottom of the page.

It is doing that whether its the product-neighbor div on the detail page or the orderby-display number. Any ideas what's going on?

Sonds like a Joomla template problem, but use Firebug to look at the code & try css edits: http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=102850.0

I think its actually a custom div/css or perhaps an old plugin/module that was added for a previous install of virtuemart and its still lingering somewhere. The previous version had an advert and its about the same size as this gap. I have looked all over the css and can't find it anywhere.
