Category Template not being picked up since version 2.0.8e

Hi have created two new template files in the folders above. 

They were being picked up in version 2.0.6 but since upgrading to 2.0.8e my site is not picking up the category/default.php file. 

Was a changed made that means I should have done something different to get a different category list template?
