After the PayPay payment, the system e-mail sent again and again every minute

Hello everyone! Help Me Please!
I have a problem.
Fresh install Joomla 2.5.6 and VM 2.0.8e.
I adjusted the PayPal payment method. After the PayPay payment all right, the order status changed 'confirmed', but the system e-mail sent to me and the customer over and over again every minute. This is very annoying.
What can I do to work properly?

I have the same problem
For one order admin and customer received 9 emails each. Have just placed second order after checking many settings and have received 7 each and counting.
Only happening on site using VM 2.08e Joomla Version 1.5.26 (PayPal Sandbox)
Have tested on VM 2.06 Joomla 2.5.4 Only 1 email received by each.

All customer emails say
"Your order status is Pending
The payment for order 9e38022 is pending state. Reason:The payment is pending because it was made to an email address that is not yet registered or confirmed."

All admin orders say
"Johnny Shopper confirmed an order with a total of $105.69, his/her order number = 9e38022"
Product Status in the admin email is Pending

Update: Emails seem to stop at 9 for both Vendor and Customer. Odd?

Do you use some 3rd party extension? for example the onepagecheckout ?

I have one page checkout installed (Rupostel) but disabled in its settings.
Should I try uninstalling it completely?

One page checkout now uninstalled. Still receiving multiple emails. Always seems to stop at 9 each for the customer and vendor.

Hello Everyone!

We are trying to set up VirtueMart All in one package version 2.0.8e with the built in PayPal payment method. After successfully configuring the system the following error occurs:

The customer recieves the confirmation email a several times. This number of these messages is varying from 7 to 13. 
The paypal.log contains only 3 messages: the one that starts with the paypal_data ..., process IPN and process IPN OK. These are single entries for each payment id. If i change the order status from pending to confirmed manually, the customer gets one confirmation e-mail.

I have found this topic: http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=102750.0 and changed the secure_post value to 1, but still had the same multiple confirmation emails.

What can be the cause of this problem? Where should I start debugging?

The cause of the problem is still unknown but a solution has been found. Overwriting the paypal folder of vmpayment folder in plugins with the same folder of the 2.0.8c (previous stable) version solves the problem. There is a minimum difference in the paypal.php file but it does the trick.

I can confirm that replacing the paypal.php file as posted by djlancelot works.

You should consult with a merchant provider because he the only one who can really help you out. I think you should unsubscibe that account and apply for the new one without paying the extra charges.
