Category page styling

I'm having a real problem with getting the category view layout on my site the way it needs to be. I have scoured these forums looking for solutions for days now, but no dice...

With reference to the image, there are three problems in particular:

1) the custom variants (Glass Color) have a width of 200px that I can't figure out where to change...
     - it seems that this is an inline style as firebug gives "element.style", but I can't find it in the category default.php file...?
     - I would like the drop-down to be either next to the "Please select" - within the bounding box, or underneath it.

2) the add to cart button is also proving quite a headache
     - I would like to have the quantity box and the button next to eachother, have tried adjusting various styles and no dice

3) the third thing is a bit more complicated, the price is not updating when the glass type (color) is selected from the drop-down box...
     - ideally, I would like the price, product name and the sku (code) to update according to the selection made.
     - I would be happy with just the price though.

If anyone can provide solutions to these, I would be immensely grateful

It would be easier if you provide the link to your page. For start try looking in folder here - templates/YOURTEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart/category/

Thanks for your reply. The site's in local development at the moment, so I can't post a link, but I can attach a copy of any files that are necessary to help resolve these issues. Just say what you need.
