Display Images Hosted Remotely using Custom Field

Hello,

I would like to modify my category and product details templates to display images for the products that I host remotely.  This image url is stored in a field called thumbimageurl and fullimageurl.  VM 2 no longer natively supports remote images in the product image field...currently.  Something about a security risk.

Does anyone have a solution or code snippet to place on those templates?
