I have not dealt with the notify me code in a long time, but yes, it was improved.  You would have to run test on it though to see how it works.

Well that thread was from 6 years ago and a lot of coding has been done since then!  Yes, simple solution is to test the function and see what happens. It's not something that any of my sites use.
