Hello all,

I run VM 2.0.24 on a Joomla 2.5.14 installation, so the latest available.

I have bought the beautiful Corporative Joomla template which embeds templates for VM which can be viewed here : http://themeforest.net/item/corporative-responsive-joomla-template/full_screen_preview/3874893.

I have set in the Config -> Templates section of VM the Corporative template for both the "Shop default template" and "Categories template" (my web site is in french).

Unfortunately, the first one works but not the second one. It looks like the default Joomla template is applied for categories no matter what is my choice.

Result can be viewed here : http://contat.alptic-dev.fr/produits.

I have even tried to replace the default Joomla template with the Corporative one in components/com_virtuemart/views/categories/tmpl without success.

Any idea ?

The Categories layout was removed in VM2.0.24 so your commercial template override for categories layout is not likely to work, almost certainly the overrides were made for an earlier VM version. A different way to display categories may be introduced in VM2.0.24a (due out very soon).

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I could not get support from the template developer.

I will wait for release 2.0.24a... do you have any idea of when it will be released ?

Hi,

Could you tell me if there is an easy way to put the category title below the category image ?

I will manage with CSS to have something good looking.

Use Firebug to check code/css - http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=116620.0
If necessary you will need to edit the override the template devloper has provided.  See http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=108212.0

VM2.0.24a may be released later today after testing with Joomla 2.5.16

I don't understand the need to override the template provided by the theme developper provided it is not applied by VM.

Shouldn't I modify the default Joomla template instead ?

jenkinhill

We have no way of knowing what overrides your template uses - assuming that they have supplied a category layout whjich you wish to change then you will need to edit that file. Unfortunately you cannot override an override.......   so a css rule is preferable if it is possible to use.
