oh,

Yes, go to Joomla 2.5 and make a clean installation of  VM 2.0.14, there is not reason to installed on a previous version if you haven't it already :)

Why you just don't install Joomla 2.5 and after install VM 2.0.14 ... i cannot understand what are you trying to accomplish

I have a website created using joomla. now i want to have also an eshop in the same server.
The website has joomla 1.5. im trying to upgrade it to 2.5 but i have problems.
Should i install joomla 2.5 on another folder on my server?

It is possible to have a website and an eshop on the same joomla installation? (for example the site to be on site.com and the eshop to be on site.com/eshop and to be completely seperated)

Hello,

Yes you can have them separate if you wish with two installations

ok but which approach do you think is the best?
can i have them both on the same joomla installation?(and to have 2 seperated sites) i will not have any conflict problem with the modules that are installed now joomfish, k2, phoca gallery?

My approach will be to have one site only build in joomla 2.5 with vm 2.0.14.
To combine two installations is impossible, only if you have to different web sites.

ok, to have 2 joomla siets in two different folders in the same server? am i going to have any problems with this?

jenkinhill

I have 5 different Joomla sites running in separate sub-directories under one domain, each with their own database. If you have enough capacity on the server then just do it!

and any one of the 5 sites appears as www.sitename.com even if it is located in subdomains? if yes how are you doing this and how i can do this without affecting the joomla site in the root folder?

jenkinhill

For simple subdirectory use, sitename.co.uk/  and then sitename.co.uk/shop1/sitename.co.uk/shop2/ etc or setting them as subdomains on the server I can use www.sitename.co.uk   shop1.sitename.co.uk  site2.sitename.co.uk etc.

Each J! site is individual and nothing to do with the root site, but does use the same domain name.
