Hi Guys

Thankyou for your hard work to date

I have been searching all over but \I cant seem to find the answer for this....
how would I go about editing the default virtuemart layout beyond the tools given in the VM template editor?

on the the default page I just want top ten & latest products only

but I do not want to upset the categories layout as I have another menu item to go to a categories only page

how would I go about doing this?

VM 2.0.1e
Joomla 1.7.3

thank you in advance

josmar

I have the same problem. The fact is how to edit the layouts that come included with virtuemart, I mean, edit for example "default layout" deleting the "top ten" part.

The template files for user editing are in joomla_root/components/com_virtuemart/views/ - within each of those subdirectories is a tmpl directory with usually a file called default.php - that is the default view for that element, and the file that is copied, edited and placed in the relevant template override directory within your Joomla template.

Saturday Morning Comics!

Found the file, but how do I alter it so the categories do not show up on the Virtuemart Frontpage. I tried looking at the above references but they were focusing on some other areas and I didn't know how to translate them to what I need. I am a beginner with editing code, so could someone walk me through it?

Thanks
