I'm also interested by changing the order number in VM2, i think simple number might be clearer for the final customer.

Would it not be possible to use the simple numbering system such as was used in the old version?  At least for dispaly purposes it would make much more sense.

Hi all, I need to solve this problem too. I was using order numbers as variable numbers to identify payments, but now it's impossible. I would need order numbers in format 30XXXXXX, where 30 is identifying an eshop where was order generated and XXXXXX are automatically generated order numbers (last order+1). Is it possible to set this in new VM2? Please help. Thank you.

I can not help you with custom order numbers.

However here is the current order number explained:

120424db5037

120424 is the date.

db50 are 4 random numbers/letters.

37 is the order number.

I suggest to use a ThridParty product: vminvoice.
Then you can use the vm standard-output as order-confimation and create your self designed invoices with order numbers of your choice on delivery.
