Is it possible to have a card payment feature on Joomla 2.5 / VM3 without the use of Paypal or any other external company?

Our client does not want to be checking Outlook for the payment confirmation as they work in a busy restaurant. If the card payment feature could be confirmed on the same receipt as the admin order confirmation e-mail that would be great.

Main reason for this is the order confirmation e-mail is printed, and Paypal's e-mail cannot be printed due to the amount of crap on each e-mail surrounding the important bits. We print the e-mails out using a star TSP100 kitchen printer, so its much smaller than an A4 printer.
