Cannot Create a New Shipment Method

We have VM 2.0.24c running on Joomla 2.5.20 and currently have 197 shipment methods; but when we try to create a new shipment methodnow, after clicking Save on the "Shipment Method Information" screen, we see the system message "Shipment Method successfully saved".  But the fields are all blank and when we click the Configuration tab, it says: "Please select a Shipment Method in the tab Shipment Method Information and click »Apply« button in Joomla 1.5.x or »Save« button in Joomla 2.5.x to display the appropriate parameters here."

We tried alternative browsers and alternative Admin users with the same result.
Any idea what is happening?

Sounds like your mysql version is maybe a bit older. Furthermore I suggest to update your system to thev vm2.6.1. It will run faster and more stable. If this does not help I an only offer our service to find the problem.

We are on MySQL 5.1.73 - What is the minimum requirement?

What are your 197 methods based on?  Postcodes, weight etc?
May be single plugin could do the job without so many methods?

They are all based on Countries and weights.

If you search for the rules shipping plugin - it's very clever.... use it a lot for multi-country

sohopros in case of mysql there is no minimum requirement. It works with mysql 5.1.73. It simply depends on those things like the shipping methods, where you reach the limit of that version. In your case it is obvioulsy 197. With a newer version of Mysql like 5.5 you do not have those individual limits.
