I wouldn't show Bill-to information at the first place. From the users point of view the original system is a bit weird because if I want to order something, I am mostly interested getting the stuff, not the bill. So ->

Priority 1 => Shipping address
Priority 2 => Billing address

I have changed the titles vice versa in the language files (and removed possibility to fill in billing address because I don't need it at the moment (see http://www.xyz.fi/index.php/ostoskori   (fin. Toimitusosoite = eng. Ship to))

If you ready-cross "Use for the shipto same as billto address" the layout is nicer and more customer focused.

## Login ##

I would stylish login form by hiding it.

"When you are already registered, please login directly here" => New:Button "'Registered users' [or] 'Existing customers' click here" would 'down-open' the login fields. (I have no clue how to make that happen, I know it is possible

Is it  possible to just have the shipping and payment methods show in the cart and leave the billing section as stock? Also, I allow guest checkout, but it seems, your checkout don't like unregistered users

Very good, although incredibly frustrating! just tested it and spent a day styling then realised that no shipping or payments work when signed in as quest, worst still i had to update to VM 2.0.3 to account for some invoice issues that were resolved and now there are no prices in the cart at all - clearly the VM team is again showing spectacular future-proofing in VMs output, but i can swap these values around, thats no big issue, its just a tedius one... the guest login however... is a deal breaker, the one page checkout is almost useless to be without being able to select the shipping and payment methods... which is really gutting because i got it looking absolutely kick ass.. I'm working on it now if i find solutions i'll post the replacement code...

They are not again us but they didn't respect the MVC philosophy by changing the View (The V from MVC).
I got a similar issue from 2.0.0 to 2.0.2 some views I overwritted were changed.
In that case I would prefer to keep the old VM1 system with the model.
Hope this is just because VM 2 is new.

But please VM team, DO NOT TOUCH THE VIEWS ANYMORE or don't tell us we can override them

Neither does what it promises.

I use / test vm 2.0.2 & 2.0.3 e,g,h Joomla 2.5.3

Of course I copy the views to my template, and your right they are not overriden...
But if you change the way the previous views are working (I means the one from virtuemart) , by example by removing part of code, adding new part, changing variables...then the previous views you modified are no more compatible with the new product.
By example you override the VM2.02 views by deprecated VM2.00 views.
This can only work if the old code from VM2.00 is not modified, if not you will have a big mess.
I don't know if it's clear.
